Cabo San Lucas Fishing Report for the Week of 20 to 26 September 2010

The Marlin Bite is Going Strong and and the bigger Yellowfin Tuna are here, too. What more can you ask for? How about big schools of Dorado? We have that, also. Cabo fishing is living up to its name this summer. The marina has been dotted with blue colored Marlin flags and lots of yellow Dorado flags along with Tuna whites and Wahoo oranges. And, of course, lots of red and white release flags.
The Dorado range from about 40 pounds down to the chicken Dorado for some nice fish tacos. The Yellowfin, which can be found feeding under schools of porpoise, are ranging up to 150 pounds. And of course Blue, Black and Striped Marlin are out there and biting. And there are still some Wahoo being caught. We got hit by Tropical Storm Georgette. She didn’t hang around long and only dumped a little moisture with some light flooding and an increase in fishing action afterwards.
This week’s highlights were on the 20th aboard the 35’ Cabo Flybridge, Picante Dream, with Captain Pablo “Palin” Cesena and mate Daniel, releasing 4 Striped Marlin for the Oliver party. It was a Cabo Fishing Dream day aboard the Picante Dream.
On the 22nd, Captain Antonio “Nino” Romero and mate Luis, aboard the Picante Express, put Mr. Schroeder and friends on the tuna. They boated 3 big Yellowfin Tuna, all over 70 pounds. And they also boated 7 nice Dorado. Some real Cabo fishing excitement!
The 23rd was the Miller party’s day. Aboard the 31’ Cabo Express, Picante Expresso, they released a Blue Marlin and a Striped Marlin. In addition to the fine marlin fishing, they boated 2 Dorado and 1 Yellowfin Tuna. Another fine Cabo San Lucas Fishing day! And other boats in the fleet lived up to the reputation of Cabo fishing charters with Tuna in excess of 100 pounds.
The 25th proved to be a lucky day for the Lenker party aboard the Picantito II. Kelly and Brian boated 4 nice Dorado and released a couple of Striped Marlin.
On the 26th Team Picante hit the water, aboard the Picantito II with Captain William and Francisco, and after a Blue Marlin made a long run, jumped and threw the hook and a Wahoo bit thru the leader the team settled into some Dorado fishing.  Also on the 26th the Addis party, aboard the Cisco with Captain Jose “Mocho” Nunez and deckhand Ricardo, released a 250 pound Black Marlin and a Striped Marlin over 120 pounds. They also boated a nice Dorado for their dining pleasure.
It was a fine week of Cabo San Lucas fishing and there is still lots more to come.
For the week the fleet production was 1 Black Marlin, 2 Blue Marlin, 16 Striped Marlin, 73 Dorado, 12 Yellowfin Tuna and 2 Wahoo.
